Clinical Psychologist

“As a clinical psychologist, I am dedicated to providing a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for individuals, couples, and families to navigate life’s challenges. My training in systemic therapy has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the complex interplay between individuals, relationships, and systems.

However, I also recognize that each client’s needs are unique, and I remain open to integrating various therapeutic modalities to ensure the most effective and personalized approach. I am particularly mindful of the importance of cultural sensitivity and awareness, and I strive to incorporate African epistemology and perspectives into my practice.

My special interests lie in working with adolescents, couples, and families. I believe that these relationships are foundational to our well-being and that nurturing them is essential for personal growth and development.

I aim to empower clients with the tools, strategies, and support necessary to overcome adversity, build resilience, and cultivate meaningful relationships. I am compassionate and committed to walking alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Clinical Psychologist

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with the HPCSA. I have a preference for working with a psychodynamic-orientated approach. However, I understand that clients have different needs and goals, therefore, I endeavour to tailor my treatment accordingly. As such, I am comfortable with and  have experience in working with a variety of modalities such as CBT, DBT and Supportive psychotherapy.

I aim to provide a space for the client where they feel heard and understood. A space  that allows for trust, vulnerability and transparency. Most importantly a space where a client and a therapist can think together. As a psychotherapist I seek to facilitate an environment that is both holding and containing, a space where the client can be their most authentic self.

I  provide individual and group psychotherapy for adults and adolescents, as well as couples psychotherapy. I also enjoy providing play therapy for children (7+). Through my training, I gained a lot of experience in working with individual adults and couples around issues such as; depression, anxiety and other mood disorders as well as personality disorders. I developed a keen interest in working with children and adolescents, around issues such as depression, anxiety problems and coping with traumatic events.

I received my master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Witwatersrand. I completed my internship at Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital. My community service was  completed at Northdale District Hospital. As such, this gave me exposure to working with a diverse population and encouraged the use of different modalities.

I am a dedicated counselling psychologist with passion for promoting mental health. I aim to empower my clients to be their true self and to reach their goals by confronting and overcoming the challenges in their lives. I am flexible in my working modality, as I have been trained in a wide variety of therapeutic framework. However,  I tend to favour a psychodynamic approach to psychotherapy, which involves exploring clients’ difficulties indepth, in a way that has the potential to create profound and sustained change. Counselling Psychologist

“In each of us lies the capacity to reframe our story, finding strength, insight, and purpose in every chapter.” ~ Micheal White

I am a Counselling Psychologist registered with the HPCSA. In my own therapeutic journey, I’ve come to recognise the anxiety that arises when we reveal aspects of ourselves that still feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable. Yet, I’ve also discovered that healing truly begins when we feel genuinely seen, heard and understood. I believe in the power of storytelling as a path to healing and self-discovery. Working predominantly from a narrative approach, I see each client as the author of their own life story, capable of reshaping their experiences and reclaiming their strengths. However, given the unique needs of each client and their individual experiences, I also integrate other approaches. My goal is to offer a warm, collaborative space where clients feel empowered to reframe challenges and uncover new possibilities in their lives.

I am dedicated to helping clients of all ages navigate life’s challenges with resilience and insight. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, family dynamics, relationship concerns, academic or career stress, grief, or bereavement, I am here to support you. I have a special interest in working with couples and children. I also have considerable experience in conducting psychological assessments.

I earned my Master of Arts in Community-Based Counselling Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand and gained valuable experience during my South African Defence Force internship.

Counselling Psychologist

I am an HPCSA registered Counselling Psychologist. I am passionate about empowering people to live their lives with insight, peace and contentment. As such, I aspire to provide a warm, supportive and open environment that is non-judgmental. My general approach to treatment is guided by my client’s needs, however, I primarily work from a narrative orientation. This means, I work collaboratively with my clients to externalize their problems or challenges, helping them to deconstruct the problematic story so we can begin to reconstruct it. This allows the client to identify their innate skills, talents, strengths and resources so they may call upon them more consciously when needed.

I have experience in working with individual adults, adolescents and couples around issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, bereavement and relationship difficulties. I have a special interest in couple’s/marriage therapy and counselling. As such, I use the Gottman Method of couple’s therapy in my work with couples. I have completed level 1 training in the Gottman Method Couple’s Therapy and am currently registered for level 2.

I obtained my undergraduate, Honours and Master of Social Sciences degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. I then completed my internship at the Student Support services of Durban University of Technology, where I gained experience in working with clients that presented with a wide spectrum of difficulties.
